Far from here, a world away in time and distance, a house patiently waits for me, forever in freeze-frame, like the old grandfather clock in the nursery rhyme that “stopped short, never to go again, when the old man died.”

A Sunday stroll and a history lesson
Less than 300 years ago this area was a wilderness of great forests and secluded clearings, populated by bear, wolf and deer, and the Mississauga Indians, who were hunter/gatherers and camped around the mouth of the creek.
